State Information

Division of Aging and Adult Services

Administers, contracts, and monitors services to aging and disabled adults, and investigates abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults. This is done primarily through two major program areas.

Living with Dying: End-of-Life Care in Utah

Most people fear death because they know and understand little about it. However, as demonstrated by the television program, On Our Own Terms: Moyers on Dying, education and open discussion will help us relieve that anxiety.

Office of Public Guardian

Provides public guardianship services to "incapacitated" adults who have no responsible, willing and able family or friends to serve as their guardians.

American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry

The Geriatric Mental Health Foundation was established by the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry to raise awareness of psychiatric and mental health disorders affecting the elderly, eliminate the stigma of mental illness and treatment, promote healthy aging strategies, and increase access to quality mental health care for the elderly.
